Japan Love

I have always wanted to come here after all the rave about their high-tech stuff and their unique culture. I had a short stay in Osaka first. then Narita. The weather in both places were pretty chilly, and as I am so afraid of the cold, it isn't my favourite time of the year in Japan. Osaka's weather was much more bearable though.

I was amazed by how I couldn't even flush the toilet haha! And when I went to a ramen restaurant in Namba, everything from ordering to serving of meal, there wasn't much human contact at all. Everything was done systematically and error free. Ordering and payments are done using machines. If there is any human contact at all, like the accessories shop and bakery I visited, the way they do things (from putting your item to the bag, how they present their items and how they give extra little bags if you buy in bulk) I can tell that they serve from the heart. That is how service should be done. And Japan has caught my heart.

I also visited Narita village and its very own temple. I would absolutely love to feel the tranquility and peace there again. Not to mention the food *drools*. Narita Temple was simply beautiful, painted with all sorts of colours. I made an offering for B and I. One of those places where you wonder how much you are missing out in life.

I will be back.

#22 Another Year

Happy birthday me! I turned 22 four days ago. It was really different this time around because this is the first time I did not have a birthday cake in front of me, with my family singing the birthday song and giving me awkward kisses on my cheek. It just felt as though it was out of a routine.

Nevertheless, my boyfriend was with me on my special day (a day before, actually). I don't know how to put how I felt into words, but I know my heart was smiling all day long. It has been a while, to have someone make me feel loved. Even though it was just a simple dinner, walking around the city doing stupid actions, I love how I spent my special day. Though I was kinda upset because I had to work the next day, on my actual birthdate booo. Better yet, my flatmate gave me a surprise when I came back home :) My lovely cupcakes, oh how I want to keep you forever!

I only wished for three things before I blew the candles; for my work to be a smooth sailing one, for everything else to go well, and to have a long lasting relationship with B. I don't know how true it is when they say, you can't say out loud your wishes or else they won't happen, but those are the things I wish for everyday. I hope wishes can come true.

All Hail The Queen

I am lucky to be back here again. This time, instead of trying to spend my time going to tourist spots, I had quality time with a good friend who is 20 years my senior. The things we talked, is as though she is my age haha. We made the right call to walk all the way to Harrods from the place we had good scones. The scenery especially Kensington Gardens was quite a visual spectacle. The colour of autumn made me want to just sit down for hours and breathe in the cool air.

We had a great time exploring Harrods! Everything and anything is there! But the best part was all the Christmas gifts, ornaments, decorations and the Christmas-y feeling I got in Harrods. My inner child went crazy haha.

I would love to be back again, to places I have yet to go to and yet to write about. I just hope that next time the weather can be less colder, and that I will remember to bring thicker set of clothes.
